Sensors and methods for weather-independent remote sensing with microwaves
Sensors and methods of radar and microwave radiometry which operate in the millimeter wave range are discussed. The properties of electromagnetic waves are discussed as well as the resolution capacity and measurement accuracy of sensor systems
The Joint Oberpfaffenhofen SAR Expert Facility - Objectives and Activities
The Joint Oberpfaffenhofen SAR Expert Facility is the entirety of all SAR expertise and experts available within the campus of the DLR in Oberpfaffenhofen. The AeroSensing Company is also involved. Objective of the facility is to accomplish the development of SAR systems, enhance the state of the art and lead SAR to respective applications
Microwave for Verification Possibilities and Limitations of Spaceborne Microwave Imaging Systems.
Verification Using Spaceborne Microwave Imaging
SAR images are particularly suited for verification purposes because their image resolution capabilities are independent of weather conditions, surface penetration, and optical visibility. Their restrictions are related to data handling and power re- quirements. The respective state of the art is presented and pro- jections for future development of SAR are made on the basis of requirements for verification and desaster monitoring
SAR Technique and Technology, its Present State of the Art with Respect to User Requirements
The present state of the art for civilian spaceborne and airborne SAR will be shown using tables which list the requirements as well as the specifications of present systems, some results are given for special applications exemplarically
SAR Pecularities, Ambiguities and Constraints.
SAR and RAR will be compared with respect to range dependence of SNR azimuth resolution, influence of platform and target velocity and acceleration, azimuth and range ambiguities pulse repetition frequency limitations and phase errors
