EFFECTIVENESS OF AN EDUCATIONAL INTERVENTION TOOL RELATED TO NUTRITONAL CONCERNS IN PHYSICALLY ACTIVE FEMALE YOUNG ADULTS

Nutrition plays a large role the effectiveness of an athlete’s physical abilities. There are various nutritional concerns for athletes to understand such as the Female Athlete Triad, Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport, and eating disorders. Each of these nutritional concerns can have negative physiological and performance consequences on athletes. One way that health care providers can help is by providing patient education. This study examined participants’ knowledge of nutritional concerns for the female athlete by implementing an interventional education tool between a pre-test and post-test. Female participants (N=33, Mage= 19.97 + 1.38) engaged with a validated Qualtrics survey of nutritional concerns of female athletes and Knowledge, Confidence, and Impact scores were collected across both pre-test and post-test. Results showed statistically significant improvement in scores for all three categories (p’s<.05). Clinically, the educational intervention can increase patient knowledge and confidence in their knowledge about nutritional topics in the short term.Master of Art

Clinical Management of Early Fetal Death

Our program was this, if we found that a cow had early embryonic death we would start the progesterone treatment on the fourth day after service. That is we gave l0cc (or 500mg) intramuscularly and then we repeated it every IO days. Now if the embryonic death occurred later, let's say after 50, 60 or 90 days, then we would wait until the cow passed one heat period and start the progesterone injection on the 27th or 28th day and we tried to estimate the time that the embryo died and from that date we would go beyond 60 or 70 days and then we would stop.</jats:p
