Exact spin dynamics of the 1/r^2 supersymmetric t-J model in a magnetic field
The dynamical spin structure factor S^{zz}(Q,omega) in the small momentum
region is derived analytically for the one-dimensional supersymmetric t-J model
with 1/r^2 interaction. Strong spin-charge separation is found in the spin
dynamics. The structure factor S^{zz}(Q,omega) with a given spin polarization
does not depend on the electron density in the small momentum region. In the
thermodynamic limit, only two spinons and one antispinon (magnon) contribute to
S^{zz}(Q,omega). These results are derived via solution of the SU(2,1)

Absence of self-averaging in the complex admittance for transport through random media
A random walk model in a one dimensional disordered medium with an
oscillatory input current is presented as a generic model of boundary
perturbation methods to investigate properties of a transport process in a
disordered medium. It is rigorously shown that an admittance which is equal to
the Fourier-Laplace transform of the first-passage time distribution is
non-self-averaging when the disorder is strong. The low frequency behavior of
the disorder-averaged admittance, where , does not coincide with the low frequency behavior of the admittance for any
sample, . It implies that the Cole-Cole plot of
appears at a different position from the Cole-Cole plots of of any

Tunneling and rattling in clathrate crystal
We present tunneling and rattling motions of an off-center guest atom in cage
referring to a clathrate crystal La_3Pd_{20}Ge_6. The elastic constant C_{44}
of La_3Pd_{20}Ge_6 shows a Debye-type dispersion around 20 K obeying a
relaxation time tau = tau_0exp(E/k_{B}T) with an attempt time tau_0 =
2.0*10^{-12} sec and an activation energy E = 197 K. At low temperatures below
3 K down to 20 mK, the C_{44} shows a softening of C_{44} =
C_{44}^0(T-T_C^0)/(T-Theta) with T_C^0 = -337.970 mK and Theta = -338.044 mK.
These facts are attributed to two different types of the off-center motions
with Gamma_5 symmetry in 4a-site cage of La_3Pd_{20}Ge_6, a thermally activated
rattling motion over the potential hill and a tunneling motion through the

Exact dynamical structure factor of the degenerate Haldane-Shastry model
The dynamical structure factor of the K-component (K = 2,3,4)
spin chain with the 1/r^2 exchange is derived exactly at zero temperature for
arbitrary size of the system. The result is interpreted in terms of a free
quasi-particle picture which is generalization of the spinon picture in the
SU(2) case; the excited states consist of K quasi-particles each of which is
characterized by a set of K-1 quantum numbers. Divergent singularities of
at the spectral edges are derived analytically. The analytic

Precise measurement of positronium hyperfine splitting using the Zeeman effect
Positronium is an ideal system for the research of the quantum
electrodynamics (QED) in bound state. The hyperfine splitting (HFS) of
positronium, , gives a good test of the bound state
calculations and probes new physics beyond the Standard Model. A new method of
QED calculations has revealed the discrepancy by 15\,ppm (3.9) of
between the QED prediction and the experimental
average. There would be possibility of new physics or common systematic
uncertainties in the previous all experiments. We describe a new experiment to
reduce possible systematic uncertainties and will provide an independent check
of the discrepancy. We are now taking data and the current result of
has been obtained so far. A measurement with a precision of (ppm) is

Magnetic Phase Diagrams with Possible Field-induced Antiferroquadrupolar Order in TbBC
Magnetic phase diagrams of a tetragonal antiferromagnet TbBC were
clarified by temperature and field dependence of magnetization. It is
noticeable that the N{\'e}el temperature in TbBC is anomalously
enhanced with magnetic fields, in particular the enhancement reaches 13.5 K for
the direction at 10 T. The magnetization processes as well as the
phase diagrams are well interpreted assuming that there appear field-induced
antiferroquadrupolar ordered phases in TbBC. The phase diagrams of the
AFQ compounds in RBC are systematically understood in terms of the

Electron Addition Spectrum in the Supersymmetric t-J Model with Inverse-Square Interaction
The electron addition spectrum A^+(k,omega) is obtained analytically for the
one-dimensional (1D) supersymmetric t-J model with 1/r^2 interaction. The
result is obtained first for a small-sized system and its validity is checked
against the numerical calculation. Then the general expression is found which
is valid for arbitrary size of the system. The thermodynamic limit of
A^+(k,omega) has a simple analytic form with contributions from one spinon, one
holon and one antiholon all of which obey fractional statistics. The upper edge
of A^+(k,omega) in the (k,omega) plane includes a delta-function peak which

Dynamical Critical Phenomena in three-dimensional Heisenberg Spin Glasses
Spin-glass (SG) and chiral-glass (CG) orderings in three dimensional (3D)
Heisenberg spin glass with and without magnetic anisotropy are studied by using
large-scale off-equilibrium Monte Carlo simulations. A characteristic time of
relaxation, which diverges at a transition temperature in the thermodynamic
limit, is obtained as a function of the temperature and the system size. Based
on the finite-size scaling analysis for the relaxation time, it is found that
in the isotropic Heisenberg spin glass, the CG phase transition occurs at a
finite temperature, while the SG transition occurs at a lower temperature,
which is compatible with zero. Our results of the anisotropic case support the
chirality scenario for the phase transitions in the 3D Heisenberg spin glasses.Comment: 9 pages, 19 figure
Ultra-stable performance of an underground-based laser interferometer observatory for gravitational waves
In order to detect the rare astrophysical events that generate gravitational
wave (GW) radiation, sufficient stability is required for GW antennas to allow
long-term observation. In practice, seismic excitation is one of the most
common disturbances effecting stable operation of suspended-mirror laser
interferometers. A straightforward means to allow more stable operation is
therefore to locate the antenna, the ``observatory'', at a ``quiet'' site. A
laser interferometer gravitational wave antenna with a baseline length of 20m
(LISM) was developed at a site 1000m underground, near Kamioka, Japan. This
project was a unique demonstration of a prototype laser interferometer for
gravitational wave observation located underground. The extremely stable
environment is the prime motivation for going underground. In this paper, the
demonstrated ultra-stable operation of the interferometer and a well-maintained
