    Mixed integer nonlinear programming for Joint Coordination of Plug-in Electrical Vehicles Charging and Smart Grid Operations

    The problem of joint coordination of plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) charging and grid power control is to minimize both PEVs charging cost and energy generation cost while meeting both residential and PEVs' power demands and suppressing the potential impact of PEVs integration. A bang-bang PEV charging strategy is adopted to exploit its simple online implementation, which requires computation of a mixed integer nonlinear programming problem (MINP) in binary variables of the PEV charging strategy and continuous variables of the grid voltages.     Superconducting properties of Gd-Ba-Cu-O single grains processed from a new, Ba-rich precursor compound

    Gd-Ba-Cu-O (GdBCO) single grains have been previously melt-processed successfully in air using a generic Mg-Nd-Ba-Cu-O (Mg-NdBCO) seed crystal. Previous research has revealed that the addition of a small amount of BaO2 to the precursor powders prior to melt processing can suppress the formation of Gd/Ba solid solution, and lead to a significant improvement in superconducting properties of the single grains. Research into the effects of a higher Ba content on single grain growth, however, has been limited by the relatively small grain size in the earlier studies. This has been addressed by developing Ba-rich precursor compounds Gd-163 and Gd-143, fabricated specifically to enable the presence of greater concentrations of Ba during the melt process. In this study, we propose a new processing route for the fabrication of high performance GdBCO single grain bulk superconductors in air by enriching the precursor powder with these new Ba rich compounds. The influence of the addition of the new compounds on the microstructures and superconducting properties of GdBCO single grains is reported

    Effect of depreciation of the public goods in spatial public goods games

    In this work, depreciated effect of the public goods is considered in the public goods games, which is realized by rescaling the multiplication factor r of each group as r' = r(nc/G)^beta (beat>= 0). It is assumed that each individual enjoys the full profit of the public goods if all the players of this group are cooperators, otherwise, the value of the public goods is reduced to r'. It is found that compared with the original version (beta = 0), emergence of cooperation is remarkably promoted for beta > 0, and there exit optimal values of beta inducing the best cooperation. Moreover, the optimal plat of beta broadens as r increases. Furthermore, effect of noise on the evolution of cooperation is studied, it is presented that variation of cooperator density with the noise is dependent of the value of beta and r, and cooperation dominates over most of the range of noise at an intermediate value of beta = 1.0. We study the initial distribution of the multiplication factor at beta = 1.0, and find that all the distributions can be described as Gauss distribution

    Distinction Between Inflection and Derivation of Learning Reduplication in Mandarin

    Reduplication as a word-formation process in Mandarin, which is one of the most difficult knowledge to comprehend for scholar and student. Theoretically this research offers an approach that is different from what has been made by previous researchers. Using the M.D.S Simatupang free context approach this research contrasts the reduplicative forms of all word classes and shows the relationships between them (AA, AABB, ABAB, ABB) and their basic forms (A, AB), then based on test of categorical word and test of lexical decomposition as proposed by J.W.M Verhaar, this study analyzes and explains reduplication and inflectional reduplication in Mandarin in order to students understand as their meaning vocabularies. As a result, this research examines the derivational and inflectional reduplication in Mandarin all at once can disseminate the use of morphological theory. In addition, this study discusses Mandarin reduplication based on various word classes that are contained as a basis for the relevant form of reduplication. Beginner research results will be presented in this study in order to stimulate more complete writing, it will be better if this research can be disseminated in order to add learning and reading material for future research

    SU(4) Theory for Spin Systems with Orbital Degeneracy

    The isotropic limit of spin systems with orbital degeneracy is shown to have global SU(4) symmetry. On many 2D lattices, the ground state does not posses long range order, which may explain the observed spin liquid properties of LiNiO2LiNiO_2.     An Investigation, Using Standard Experimental Techniques, to Determine FLCs at Elevated Temperature for Aluminium Alloys

    An experimental procedure has been developed for the determination of FLCs at elevated temperatures. The GOM ARGUS system was employed for measuring surface strain based on pre-applied grids (pattern), and limit strains were determined according to the ISO 12004-2:2008 standard. Forming limit curves (FLCs) have been determined for AA5754 under warm forming conditions in an isothermal environment. The tests were carried out at various temperatures up to 300oC and forming speeds ranging from 5 – 300 mm s-1 . Results reveal the significant effect of both temperature and forming speed on FLCs of AA5754. Formability increases with increasing temperature above 200oC. Formability also increases with decreasing speed. The presented FLC results show that the best formability exists at low forming speed and the high temperature end of the warm forming range

    Topological Bose-Mott Insulators in a One-Dimensional Optical Superlattice

    We study topological properties of the Bose-Hubbard model with repulsive interactions in a one-dimensional optical superlattice. We find that the Mott insulator states of the single-component (two-component) Bose-Hubbard model under fractional fillings are topological insulators characterized by a nonzero charge (or spin) Chern number with nontrivial edge states. For ultracold atomic experiments, we show that the topological Chern number can be detected through measuring the density profiles of the bosonic atoms in a harmonic trap.Comment: 5 pages, published versio
