Maximizing spectral radii of uniform hypergraphs with few edges
In this paper we investigate the hypergraphs whose spectral radii attain the
maximum among all uniform hypergraphs with given number of edges. In particular
we characterize the hypergraph(s) with maximum spectral radius over all
unicyclic hypergraphs, linear or power unicyclic hypergraphs with given girth,
linear or power bicyclic hypergraphs, respectively
Generational dependency and elderly care : a psychological interpretation of cultural norms and exchange
ln spite of the complexity of such dynamic relationships in the caregiving system, the literature shows that dominant research paradigm has places elderly care in the framework of a simple, unqualified social exchange theory. The primary goal of this paper to critique research approach based on the social exchange theory. First, we wish to discuss how the exchange theory lies at the heart of the debate between the proponents and opponents of having family members as the primary care providers for elderly. We wish to review the basic assumptions that social exchange theory holds about caregiving relationships. Second, we suggest that focusing on the perceptions and expectations between the elderly person and his/her caretaker may instead be a more valuable approach to understanding the caregiving relationship. Here we submit that an example of the perception-expectation approach is reflected in the “secondary baby talk” between caregiver and the elderly. Third, we wish to discuss how such an approach may provide insight into a range of culturally variant behaviors for family members who are caring for elderly
Study on the design schemes of marine warning and forecasting system platform
The system platform of marine monitoring and disaster forecasting plays an important role in ocean observations, data collection as well as disaster prevention and mitigation. This paper discusses the necessity and significance of the system platform construction in Jiangsu Province, China. We take the construction of the observation platform as an example, considering the difficulties of the project design, analyzed the influence factors like wind, water level, tide, wave, earthquake and corrosion. On the basis, we study the platform???s program layout, hydraulic structures scheme, layout of main observation devices, power supply and lightning, construction scheme. The research results can provide a reference for the design of the subsequent ocean observing platform, and can be further applied in other related design of observation platform
Non-Abelian Chiral Spin Liquid on the Kagome Lattice
We study spin liquid states on the kagome lattice constructed by
Gutzwiller-projected superconductors. We show that the obtained spin
liquids are either non-Abelian or Abelian topological phases, depending on the
topology of the fermionic mean-field state. By calculating the modular matrices
and , we confirm that projected topological superconductors are
non-Abelian chiral spin liquid (NACSL). The chiral central charge and the spin
Hall conductance we obtained agree very well with the (or,
equivalently, ) field theory predictions. We propose a local
Hamiltonian which may stabilize the NACSL. From a variational study we observe
a topological phase transition from the NACSL to the Abelian spin liquid.Comment: 12 pages, 7 figures, 1 tabl
Thickness dependence of the anomalous Hall effect in thin films of the topological semimetal CoMnGa
Topological magnetic semimetals promise large Berry curvature through the
distribution of the topological Weyl nodes or nodal lines and further novel
physics with exotic transport phenomena. We present a systematic study of the
structural and magnetotransport properties of CoMnGa films from thin (20
nm) to bulk like behavior (80 nm), in order to understand the underlying
mechanisms and the role on the topology. The magnetron sputtered CoMnGa
films are -ordered showing very good heteroepitaxy and a
strain-induced tetragonal distortion. The anomalous Hall conductivity was found
to be maximum at a value of 1138 S/cm, with a corresponding anomalous Hall
angle of 13 %, which is comparatively larger than topologically trivial metals.
There is a good agreement between the theoretical calculations and the Hall
conductivity observed for the 80 nm film, which suggest that the effect is
intrinsic. Thus, the CoMnGa compound manifests as a promising material
towards topologically-driven spintronic applications.Comment: 7 pages, 5 figures, 1 tabl
