FOOD SECURITY: RISK MANAGEMENT OF GRAIN PRODUCTION IN THE SOUTH OF RUSSIA (ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE VOLGOGRAD REGION)

The characteristic of risk management of grain crops production in the South of Russia, Volgograd region is given. The factors that ensure, on the one hand, the further multifunctional development of the grain complex of the Volgograd region, and, on the other hand, reflect the risks of natural and climatic conditions, the degree of state support, the prevailing trends in the development of the food market. It is shown that the grain complex is a historically formed strategic resource that stimulates the development of many related industries, food and raw materials markets. Proposals were substantiated aimed at sustainable development of agricultural grain production in the region, reducing price risks, increasing capacities for primary grain processing and storage, developing ties in ensuring grain supplies to Central Asian and Arab countries.</jats:p
