Nonlocal bright spatial solitons in defocusing Kerr media supported by PT symmetric potentials
It is studied the bright spatial solitons in nonlocal defocusing Kerr media
with parity-time (PT) symmetric potentials. We find that these solitons can
exist and be stable over a different range of potential parameters. The
influence of the degree of nonlocality on the solitons and the transverse
energy flow within the stable solitons are also examined.Comment: 4 page
Evaluating Knowledge-based Cross-lingual Inconsistency in Large Language Models
This paper investigates the cross-lingual inconsistencies observed in Large
Language Models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT, Llama, and Baichuan, which have shown
exceptional performance in various Natural Language Processing (NLP) tasks.
Despite their successes, these models often exhibit significant inconsistencies
when processing the same concepts across different languages. This study
focuses on three primary questions: the existence of cross-lingual
inconsistencies in LLMs, the specific aspects in which these inconsistencies
manifest, and the correlation between cross-lingual consistency and
multilingual capabilities of LLMs.To address these questions, we propose an
innovative evaluation method for Cross-lingual Semantic Consistency (xSC) using
the LaBSE model. We further introduce metrics for Cross-lingual Accuracy
Consistency (xAC) and Cross-lingual Timeliness Consistency (xTC) to
comprehensively assess the models' performance regarding semantic, accuracy,
and timeliness inconsistencies. By harmonizing these metrics, we provide a
holistic measurement of LLMs' cross-lingual consistency. Our findings aim to
enhance the understanding and improvement of multilingual capabilities and
interpretability in LLMs, contributing to the development of more robust and
reliable multilingual language models
Nonlocal gap solitons in parity-time symmetric optical lattices
We numerically study the nonlocal gap solitons in parity-time (PT) symmetric
optical lattices built into a nonlocal self-focusing medium. We state the
existence, stability, and propagation dynamics of such PT gap solitons in
detail. Simulated results show that there exist stable gap soltions. The
influences of the degree of nonlocality on the soliton power, the energy flow
density and the stable region of the PT gap solitons are also examined.Comment: 4 page
Resonant TMR inversion in LiF/EuS based spin-filter tunnel junctions
Resonant tunneling can lead to inverse tunnel magnetoresistance when impurity
levels rather than direct tunneling dominate the transport process. We
fabricated hybrid magnetic tunnel junctions of CoFe/LiF/EuS/Ti, with an
epitaxial LiF energy barrier joined with a polycrystalline EuS spin-filter
bar-rier. Due to the water solubility of LiF, the devices were fully packaged
in situ. The devices showed sizeable positive TMR up to 16% at low bias
voltages but clearly inverted TMR at higher bias voltages. The TMR inversion
depends sensitively on the thickness of LiF, and the tendency of inversion
disap-pears when LiF gets thick enough and recovers its intrinsic properties
