Relationship of Covid-19 Pandemic on Performance and Internal Operation of The Airline

Abstract. Air transport business is challenged to oversee their performance and operations to preserve their business presence within the COVID-19 widespread. It is fundamental to distinguish the suitable performance and operation and their relationship with the pandemic. In this way, we used the indicators to employ a systematic literature review and experts’ point of view to select and group suitable indicators to address the literature gap. Twenty performance and internal operations indicators are identified and redefined from the review. The Delphi method’s result suggests eight indicators categorized in airline performance indicators and seven indicators categorized in internal operation indicators. We investigate the relationship of COVID-19 pandemic on the selected indicators using SmartPLS based on fifty-two weeks performance, and operation report of one of full-service airline started from 08 March 2020 until 28 February 2021. It can be deduced that the COVID-19 pandemic has a significant and negative influence on the airline’s performance. This study fills the gap by synthesizing and creating suitable and comprehensive performance and operation indicators of air transport carriers in a pandemic situation and their relationships. Finally, this study provides an invaluable point for analyzing the air transport carrier industries in a pandemic to maximize performance through profitability and load factors indicators. Abstract Al-Musawamah transaction contract is a transaction contract that occurs daily in traditional markets betweent seller and buyers where this transation contract becomes a contract that we can meet or even do every day in traditional markes. Because of course this contract failitates the process of a deal or agreement from both parties betweent the seller danthe buyer to determine the price of a item to be purchased by a buyer. Supplier evaluation in industrial power services: a case study in gas-turbine maintenance, repair, and overhaul

The maintenance is one of the highest costs in a gas-turbine engine, after operating cost with approximately about 14-19 % of the total cost. Some of the operators do not have spare engines, and it will lead to operation shutdown. With the current market, most MRO challenged to provide their costumer to achieve quick turnaround time (TAT) at a low cost without affecting the quality of the product. Since MRO is selling the skill services, it took applied technology, skill training, and experience to deliver quality, which needs high cost. Therefore, MRO needs to collaborate with other parties (original manufacturer or others) to increase its capacity and capability. MRO should concern more for evaluating the vendors to align with the strategies to get quick turnaround time with the right quality product. Supplier selection is the objective of this research by analyzing the selection criteria at Industrial Gas-Turbine maintenance. The highest priority is the vendor effectiveness followed by the quality, cost, risk management. The highest weight is based on the priority of the supplier.</jats:p

Container terminal landside operation analysis and discrete event simulation in container terminal in port: a case study of Terminal 3 Ocean-going PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok

Abstract This study discusses the landside operation and presents the application of Truck Appointment System (TAS) and lane segmentation strategy through discrete event simulation in Terminal 3 Ocean-going PT Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok. This study aims to analyze the operation planning system in Terminal 3 Ocean-going and identify problems that exist on terminal 3. This study also seeks to examine the landside operation process and offer alternative scenarios to solve the congestion problem in the terminal. Alternative scenarios provided are a combination of Truck Appointment System (TAS) and lane segmentation strategy. Truck Appointment Strategy (TAS) with 100% utilization is proved to reduce average total time in the system by 76% and reduce average total time in peak days by 88%, from 151.5 minutes to 38.4 minutes per truck. Truck Appointment System (TAS) is also proved to reduce queue length by 97%, from 162 trucks to 5 trucks.</jats:p

Design Development of Portable (Mini) Multi-function Incinerator for Dry Medical Waste Handling.

Abstract Medical waste contains biohazard, such as dry medical waste from the Centre of Public Health Services (PUSKESMAS) should be burning out, especially in the pandemic of covid 19. One of the possible solution is burning the waste by using incinerator. Basic concept of incinerator is controlled high temperature combustion, thus it should be perfect condition to burnt out the hazardous waste. Heat energy that exposed while incinerator operated should having high potency to be used for other purposes such as water heater and carbonization process. This research aims to develop an incinerator which can be used not only as high temperature burner (as incinerator’s main function), but also for water heater system and carbonization process, in the same time. The incinerator designed as mini portable incinerator since it will be used in a center of public health services (PUSKESMAS). Both of hot water and charcoal produced while incinerator operation can be used for sanitation purposes in the PUSKESMAS itself. Combustion process temperatures, smoke quality, safety factor, and energy utilities are the parameters which were determined as incinerator performance. Some design improvement has been done to the original design by Pradipta and Agustina [1] in order to improve the incinerator performance. The latest design performance is showing that combustion temperature successfully increased up to 980 °C for combustion rate of 9 kg waste/hour. Utilization of heat energy produced by combustion process inside the chamber has been successfully produce 2-2,5 kg of good quality coconut shell charcoal and hot water of 83 °C at 6 lt/minute flow rate.</jats:p
