Water-Trap Series and City Pond to Control The Destructive Power of Runoff Water from Mbay Hills
Weworuwet Hill, which is part of the Mbay hillside in Flores – NTT has sparse vegetation, only a stretch of grass that covers it, and is dry in the dry season like a barren teletabic hillside. This has the potential for surface water runoff, which has high destructive power, especially in the lowlands of Mbay City. To overcome this problem, a study to control the destructive force of water runoff was carried out by applying a water-trap series system, so that the potential for the destructive power of water can be reduced. Tertiary, secondary and primary runoff analysis studies are carried out to determine the location of the required watertraps. This study was conducted using a geographic information system-based program. Furthermore, the hydrological analysis of the area is carried out to determine which flood discharge can be controlled, and the volume of water that can be used for greening hills so that it can reduce the potential for damage to water runoff. The remaining water discharge in the downstream will be accommodated in the city pond, which functions as water conservation infrastructure. Finally, by applying a series of water traps on the tertiary, secondary and primary runoff from the Mbay hilly area, the destructive power of the runoff can be controlled, so that it does not impact and burden the residential plains of the town of Mbay.</jats:p
PENERAPAN BIAYA KUALITAS UNTUK MENINGKATKAN EFISIENSI BIAYA PRODUKSI PADA CV. ULUNG BAURENO
In the current era of globalization of the world economy, company management competes with each other. Quality is one of the main factors that must be considered by companies so that they can survive in the midst of competitive competition. The author conducted this research in a cigarette company, CV. Ulung Baureno Bojonegoro. The variables in this study are quality costs as independent variables (X) and production cost efficiency as the dependent variable (Y). The research approach used is an explanatory research approach and the method used by the author is a quantitative descriptive method. The results of the research on total quality costs in 2018 recognized by the company amounted to Rp. 408.367.000 with a percentage of 3.96%. From the results of estimates obtained by lowering costs in the category of prevention costs, quality costs decreased by Rp 233.117.000 or equal to 2.26% of the actual sales total. So that it can be concluded that by applying quality costs can increase the efficiency of production costs.</jats:p
On dynamic optimization sensitivity analysis
Abstract
This article describes a linear penalty method for getting sensitive information, i.e. the effect of variation on the constraint to the objective function. The dynamic optimization problem discussed here is a problem with state constraints. At first, the problem is formulated to unconstrained dynamic optimization problem by adding the constraints to the objective function as linear penalty terms. Then, the mathematical formulas to evaluate the change in the objective function and the optimal solution are derived if small perturbation introduced in the constraints. Lastly, the formulas are applied to some numerical examples. Comparison the result of numerical simulations to the numerical solutions obtained from reliable software, i.e. MISER 3.3, shows that the method in general is quite effective. The differences between two solutions are very small and insignificant.</jats:p
Proposed Marketing Strategy to Fight Market Uncertainty for Indonesia Paper Company
The paper industry has faced pressures from the digitalization process and climate change over the past five years. Currently, the war in Europe is adding to the pressure. Companies from the paper industry, such as Indonesia Paper Company, must review their business strategies in facing this global market uncertainty. Using the Scenario Planning approach, this study finds two possible scenarios that companies can prepare for: the economy deteriorates into a world economic crisis, or the economy improves. Both scenarios show significant changes in market segmentation that can impact business and marketing strategies. The company has a Competitive Advantage in the source of raw materials. Therefore, the company can apply the Cost Strategy in facing a crisis. The advantage can also help companies carry out a Focused Differentiation Strategy when the economy improves. When uncertainty is still high, like today, companies can make internal improvements to adapt to rapid technological changes and optimize performance.</jats:p
An Analysis of Student Difficulties in Solving the Word Problem
Abstract
This research is a qualitative descriptive research that aims to describe the types and factors of difficulty in solving mathematics problems in the form of word problems. The research subjects were 22 students who were selected by random sampling technique from one of the junior high schools in Indragiri Hilir. The data was collected through diagnostic tests and interviews conducted openly but not structured. In analyzing the students’ difficulties, the revised Bloom’s Taxonomy theory was used to find the difficulties in factual, conceptual, procedural, and metacognitive knowledge. The results of research showed that 14.77% of students had difficulties in factual knowledge, 17.05% of students had difficulties in conceptual knowledge, 45.46% of students had difficulties in procedural knowledge, and 53.41% of students had difficulties in metacognitive knowledge. The factors that cause difficulties were experienced by students, such as: their sense in lack of time, carelessness, anxiety, giving up easily, and being hasty in doing the given problem.</jats:p
