    Construction of a Massive ABJM Theory Without Higgs Superfields

    Full text link
    A massive Aharony-Bergman-Jafferis-Maldacena (ABJM) model in N=1\mathcal{N} =1 superspace is analysed by considering a Proca type mass term into the most general Faddeev-Popov action in a covariant gauge. The presence of mass term breaks the original BRST and anti-BRST invariance of the model. Further, the symmetry of the massive ABJM model is restored by extending the BRST and anti-BRST transformations. We show that the supergauge dependence of generating functional for connected diagrams occurs in presence of mass and ghost-anti-ghost condensates in the theory.Comment: 9 pages, no figur

    Reducible gauge theories in very special relativity

    In this paper we analyze the tensor field (reducible gauge) theories in the context of very special relativity (VSR). Particularly, we study the VSR gauge symmetry as well as VSR BRST symmetry of Kalb-Ramond and Abelian 3-form fields involving a fixed null vector. We observe that the Kalb-Ramond and Abelian 3-form fields and corresponding ghosts get masses in VSR framework. The effective action in VSR-type axial gauge is greatly simplified compared with the VSR-type Lorenz gauge. Further, we quantize these models using a Batalin-Vilkovisy (BV) formulation in VSR.Comment: 14 pages, no figure, Version to appear in EPJ

    Field-dependent quantum gauge transformation

    Full text link
    In this paper we generalize the quantum gauge transformation of Maxwell theory obtained through gaugeon formalism. The generalization is made by making the bosonic transformation parameter field-dependent. The Jacobian of vacuum functional under field-dependent quantum gauge transformation is calculated explicitly. We show that the quantum gauge transformation with a particular choice of field-dependent parameter connects the gaugeon actions of Maxwell theory in two different gauges. We establish the result by connecting two well-known gauges, namely, Lorentz gauge and axial gauge.Comment: 7 pages, No figure, Journal versio

    N=1 super-Chern-Simons theory in Batalin-Vilkovisky formulation

    Full text link
    We analyse the Abelian N=1N=1 super-Chern-Simons model coupled to parity-preserving matter in linear and non-linear gauges with exact BRST invariance. Then we analyse the theory in field/antifield formulation to discuss the model at quantum level. Furthermore, we implement the field/antifield dependent transformation parameter to generalize the BRST symmetry of the theory. The novelty of field/antifield dependent BRST transformation is that under change of variable the Jacobian of the functional integral extends the quantum action from linear gauge to non-linear gauge. The results are established in full generality.Comment: 7 pages, no figure, Version to appear in EP
